William Owen "Chicken" Foster, age 82, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at his residence. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, with David Conley officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Mr. Foster was a native of Red Rock. He was a lifelong farmer and mule trader, a member of the Cattleman's Association and the Alabama Farmer's Association. Mr. Foster was a member of Red Rock Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, and daughter, Marjorie Foster Tinker. Mr. Foster is survived by his sons, Owen Daniel Foster Sr. and Richard Foster; daughter, Lavona Foster Clark; brother, George Foster; sisters, Alma Foster Alexander, Carolyn Foster Cahoon, Margaret Foster Evans and Jane Foster Boozer; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and special friends, David, Dewey, Brittney and Lacy.Pallbearers will be Trey Alexander, Bill Alexander, Art Waldrep, Andy Waldrep, Sam Bates, Wayne Jones, Scott Newman, James Hankins, Jeff Mitchell, Paul Foster, Tim Foster and George Foster. Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, is directing.
