Raymond Cornell Bruce was the first of three sons born to Raymond Thomas and Lela Susannah Taylor Bruce. He was born Aug. 4, 1929 in Paris, Bear Lake, Idaho.
He was named after his father, Raymond. To avoid confusion, he always used his middle name, Cornell. He completed his schooling in Montpelier to the age of 16.
He spent time with his father and two brothers fishing and camping when not in school.
At the early age of 16, Cornell was afflicted with acute appendicitis. He was taken to the hospital where he died of a ruptured appendix Jan. 2, 1945.
LDS funeral services were held and burial was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
Cornell was dearly loved and sorely missed by his family and friends.
