WM. H. BELKNAP

Wm. H. Belknap of Lincoln, died suddenly Thursday morning, Oct. 9, 1930. He had been in excellent health and had been present at the wedding of his daughter the day previous. His death was the result of a heart attack.

Deceased was born in New York where he grew to manhood and where he was married. To this union three children were born, only one of whom is now living, Stanley of Omaha.

He was a pioneer settler in this county, taking a homestead about two miles south of Kennard. Later he returned to New York but returned to Nebraska and over thirty years ago he took over the management of the Haller Proprietary Company. He filled this place until 1921 when he moved to Lincoln.

His first wife died soon after he moved to Blair and he was married a second time to Miss Marie Petersen. To this union two children were born, William, now married and living in New York, and Adeline, now Mrs. Dwight Hanks, of Lincoln.

Mr. Belknap was a man of ability and when he passed away at the age of eighty-five years he still retained his faculties. He was an ardent member of the Baptist church and lived the part.
