Bettie Lee Archer Taylor, departed this life on February 7, 1977 at MCV Hospital after an extended illness. Born December 29, 1911 in Chesterfield County, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Adolphus Archer (aka Kimmie) and Bettie Frances Austin Archer, and sister, Mary Archer Mosby.

She was educated at the Hickory Hill School in Chesterfield County and graduated from Chesterfield High School in 1930.

She found Christ at an early age and became active in the fellowship at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. She diligently served as a Sunday School Teacher for several years.

She leaves to cherish in memories: her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, James H. Taylor, Sr.; one loving daughter, Joyce Yvonne Taylor Vaughan; seven loving sons, Clyde A., Sr. (Shelby), James H., Jr. (Frances), Archer L. (Delores), Marvin S., Sr. (Brenda B.), Delmas L., Anthony C., and Kenneth W. Taylor; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel A. Clarke of Baltimore, MD and Phoebe Lucille A. Walker; one brother, Albert S. Archer, Sr. (Eleanor); one aunt; seven sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her remains rested at the O. F. Howard Funeral Home. Eulogistic services were held Thursday, February 10, 1977, at 1pm at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. Rev. F. C. Harrison presided. Interment Maury Cemetery.
