Syracuse Native Formerly Was Head of Fruit Company.
Benjamin W. Roscoe, former head of the Roscoe Fruit Company, which for years
occupied the old station of the West Shore Railroad near the present
Herald-Journal Building, died suddenly Sunday in Los Angeles, Calif., where he
had been living for the last 10 years.
Mr. Roscoe went to California as West Coast representative of National
Distillers, Inc. In news received received here, no cause of death is mentioned.
He was about 55, a native of Syracuse and educated in Syracuse public schools.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Handy, and three sons, William
Niven Roscoe of Hollywood, and Ben,II and John Roscoe of the U.S. Marine Corps.
