She was born December 21, 1939 in Elps, Louisiana to the late Lloyd and Beatrice Prather. She graduated from Bastrop High School in 1957. She was a property manager for a management company. Melba was a member of the Hardin Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hatters.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Earl Pamplin; sons, Willie Eugene, Lloyd Steven, and Patrick Wayne Pamplin; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry, Waymon, Ronnie Pamplin, Nickie DeCourte; sisters, Nancy and Virginia DeCourte.
Services will be at 10am Friday in the chapel of Cranford Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, Louisiana by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall
