Biography Prepared by Find a Grave contributor, Jon Horn:

Amos Sweet Warren was born on June 10, 1831 in Hartland, Niagara County, New York. His family immigrated to Utah with the Aaron Johnson Company that left Kanesville, Iowa on June 12, 1850 and arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on September 2, 1850. The family settled at Springville. He married Abigail Ardilla Childs, whom he had known in New York, in Springville on January 1, 1853. They had 10 children between 1853 and 1875. Warren worked as a blacksmith and carpenter. During the Walker War with the Utes, he was a private in the company of Mathew Caldwell from April 1, 1853 to May 20, 1854. He then served as a private in Jessie P. Steele’s cavalry company from June 10 to September 26, 1866. Although living primarily in Springville, Warren was employed as a blacksmith and interpreter for the Uintah Valley Agency for the Ute Indians from about 1873 to 1877. Amos died in Springville on October 11, 1909; Abigail died there on February 27, 1915
