Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1909, in Ellis County, and moved to Lubbock in 1952 from Childress. She married Eric Howard on June 18, 1927, in Quanah. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1947.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1952. She retired from Mrs. Camps Bakery.
She was preceded in death by a son, William M. Howard; two daughters, Joan Johnson and Florene Roten; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Troy E. Howard of Rogers, Ark., and Jerry Howard of Lubbock; two daughters, Nadine Nelson of Spokane, Wash., and Mary Weir of Grand Prairie; three brothers, Ray Brown and Harold Brown, both of Midland, and Arthur Brown of Baycliff; a sister, Marie Swain of Hemet, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
