JONESBORO - Alan W. Look, 74, died unexpectedly February 12, 2012, at a Machias hospital. He was born in Jonesboro January 15, 1938, the son of the late Lysten and Elizabeth (White) Look. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army. He then worked for many years as a carpenter, as well as a clammer. He also enjoyed the years he worked as a salesperson at Zachry's store in Jonesboro. He will be remembered as a man with a great sense of humor who loved to laugh, and as a jokester. He could usually be found having coffee with the boys hanging out around the "Liar's Table." He was the drummer for the "Look Family Band" and had a great love for sports. He enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting, and watching just about any sports on TV. He was even known as "Coach Clam" for the ladies softball team. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ellen (Healey) Look; children, Richard Kilton and wife Caron, Rosemarie Mondville and husband Philip, Danette Popham, Philip Look, Alan Jr. and wife Susan, Paul Look, and Leo Look and wife Patty; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glenna Robinson and husband Kenneth, and Lottie Geel and husband Royce; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers James and Wesley. Spring burial services in the Forrest Hill Cemetery, Jonesboro, will be announced by McClure Family Funeral Services.
