Janette A. Barnes, 79, of Finland, Minn., died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors.

She was born February 5, 1933 to Leon and Blanche (Meserve) Lombard in Westbrook, Maine, as the youngest grandchild of a Civil War veteran. She grew up and graduated from high school in Westbrook, and then worked for S.D. Warren Paper Company for 16 years. She married Robert Barnes on July 2, 1966 in Westbrook, Maine. In 1967, they moved to Silver Bay and in 1971 they moved to Finland. Janette was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Phyllis and Irene.

Janette is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert; daughter, Lisa of St. Louis Park; son, Robert of Two Harbors; granddaughter, Heather of Casper, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 AM until the 10 AM Service Friday, February 24, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Finland. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mt. Cemetery.
