He obtained his law degree from the University of Southern California and was a member of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and Beverly Hills Kiwanis for many years. In 1928, while he was managing a bank in Glendale, California, he married Monna Bethune. The couple was involved in many civic, political, and charity events in the Los Angeles area. He was the 1957 president of the Los Angeles Kiwanis organization. They had two sons, John Worley Eagle Jr. and Thomas W. Eagle.
