Faye Neil Compton was the first-born child of Albert Edwin Compton and Emma Amanda Vance. Albert and Emma married on August 28, 1889 in Albert's hometown of Bourbon Twp., Douglas Co., in central eastern Illinois. Shortly thereafter the couple settled a few miles to the east on the Indiana border at Paris, Edgar Co., where Faye Neil was born the next year.

At some point Faye Neil migrated 160 miles north to the Chicago area where he met his future bride, Lillian Maude Vandervort. Prior to this time Faye Neil's Compton parents left Illinois, and moved a thousand miles southeast to settle in Florida.

On May 02, 1917, a week short of her 24th birthday, Lillian Vandervort married 26-year old Faye Neil Compton at Glen Ellyn, DuPage Co., Illinois, a few miles to the west of Chicago.

Later that same year, Faye Neil's father, Albert Compton, died in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida, at age 51.

In 1918, a year after their marriage, the young Compton couple had their first son, Faye Neil Compton, Jr., and then a daughter, Doris Lorraine Compton, in 1919. By the 1920 census the young Compton family was living in the city of Chicago.

By the 1930 census the Compton family had moved west to southern Calfornia, where they settled in the city of Los Angeles, with their thrid newborn child, another son.

At some point, Lillian and Faye Neil Compton Sr. settled five miles north of the city, here in the Glendale area.

In 1941, Faye Neil Compton Sr.'s 23-year old son Faye Neil Compton Jr. married Elizabeth Lockwood 'Betty' Lee, and that young couple eventually settled 15 miles to the south, in the hills of Rancho Palos Verdes, on the southern peninsula coast near the harbor.

In 1968, Faye Neil Sr. died, at age 78, and was buried here at Forest Lawn. His widow Lillian followed only a few months later, a few weeks shy of her 74th birthday. Lillian was then buried here together with her husband.
