North Carolina Army National Guard Spc. Carrasquillo was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 120th Infantry Regiment, Army National Guard, Wilmington, North Carolina. Carrasquillo was killed when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle on the main supply route. Jocelyn was a 1994 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He had been a student at Cape Fear Community College in the Occupational Therapist Assistant program and at Miller-Mott Technical College in Wilmington in the Massage Therapy Program. He had been in the Guard for seven years and was currently working at Sam's Club in Wilmington when he was deployed three weeks before his death. Jocelyn was a joker, a great dancer and a relentlessly upbeat person. The world could be falling apart and he'd smile and find something positive about it. He was also a person who wanted to help others so he volunteered his skills at nursing homes in his free time. Jocelyn was loved and respected by many people. More than 900 people attended his funeral and his mother was able to kiss her son before the casket closed.
