Cletis Early Peacock, 433 Snug Harbor Road, Hertford, NC, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Peacock was born in Salisbury, NC, the son of the late Sarah Byerly and William Alvis Peacock. He was a WWII veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor and courage in the line of combat. He was married to Theba Ward Peacock of the residence for 67 years.

Surviving Mr. Peacock is a daughter, Sarah A. Ching and her husband, Dennis, of Hertford , several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in Greensboro and Fl. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

A Graveside Celebration of Mr. Peacock's life will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Holt's Chapel Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. Friends may send condolences by visiting www.evansfac.com. Evans Funerals and Cremations of Edenton, is serving the Peacock family.
