Brookins is the son of Joseph Wanton and Diadema(Brookins)Potter.

He was married to Sarah "Sally" Brittain on aug. 18, 1817 at Huntington Township, Luzerne County, PA

After his wife Sarah died he married Elizabeth (to date her maiden name and burial location is unknown)."

"It is believed his tombstone inscription is an error and should be aged 90, not 80"
