Mrs. Ima Mae Bingman Johnson age 93 of 254 Tom's Creek Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC widow of Mr. Jim Johnson went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born April 21, 1914 in Surry County, NC to the late Jim and Zida Love Bingman. Mrs. Johnson was retired from Spencer's Inc. She was a homemaker and was the oldest living member of Indian Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Marlene S. Johnson, Pilot Mountain, Kenneth and Virginia T. Johnson, Pilot Mountain, , two grandchildren and a spouse, Bradley Johnson, Mt. Airy, Nadine and David Shelton, King, a great grandson, Dwight Shelton, King, and two sisters-in-law, Alene I. Bingman, Pilot Mountain and Marie Johnson, Mt. Airy, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Rena Bingman and two brothers, Ansley Bingman and Tom Bingman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Indian Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Love and Rev. Tommy Floyd where her body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Indian Grove Baptist Church Paving Fund, c/o Brenda Quesinberry, 1620 Holly Springs Road, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
