ERDMAN • David R. "Doc" Shade, 59, died Feb. 13 at Springcreek Rehab and Health Care, Harrisburg.

He was born Dec. 29, 1952 in Sacramento, a son of the late Marlin and Eva Klinger Shade.

He worked as a butcher at Bixler's Meats, Sacramento.

He was a member of Spruce Spring Hunting Camp, Mifflin County; Erdman Sportsmen's Association, Erdman; Valley Lodge 797, Valley View; Valley View Gun Club, Valley View; Veteran's of the American Legion, Valley View; and the Gratz Fire Company, Gratz.

He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Shade of Elizabethville; a son, Tony Baker of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Carmen Alexande of Charleroi; two stepsons, Damon Lentz, of Dalmatia and Brian Lentz, of Bethel; a sister, Alice Graby of Annville; seven step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren

Memorial services were held Feb. 17 at Zion Klinger's Lutheran Church, Erdman.
