Sydney enlisted for WW1 on the 17th Aug 1914 at 30 years of age, he was wounded in action at the Dardanelles on May 12 1915. A Gun Shot wound to the chest saw him sent to Alexandria then Cairo for treatment. He returned to Australia on July 29 1915 & was discharged as medically unfit the following year.
Medals: 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal.
WW2 Service Australian Army Personnel Depot Rank Corporal V82392 , he enlisted for WW2 on December 27 1939 & served until April 8 1942.
