Radio Disc Jocky. Born Charles Gotthardt Neidel Jr, for forty years he was the voice and ambassador of the jazz radio in Southern California. He was the head jazz DJ at KNOB-FM radio Los Angeles, (1955-65), KKGO-FM Los Angeles, (1965-90), KKJZ-FM Long Beach and KLON-FM Los Angeles, 1990 until his death. A popular entertainer, he was Known as "Bebop Charlie", he was a popular entertainer making many public appearances and was an emcee at jazz concerts. He also appeared in many films such as "Hand of Death" (1962), "Face of the Screaming Werewolf" (1964), "Slaughter's Rip-Off" (1973), "Nightmare Circus" (1974) and "Skateboard" (1978). He died from complications from a stroke at age 76 and is the only jazz DJ to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
