Charles "Bob" Caldwell, 87, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012. He was a member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church and loved to cook. Bob was a veteran of World War II, member of 82nd Airborne, who jumped behind enemy lines on D-Day. He owned and operated Caldwell Nursery and Landscaping in North Little Rock until his retirement. He supported Oak Grove elementary and high schools and was a sponsor of Little League football at Oak Grove. Bob loved the Razorbacks and will be missed and loved by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Mary Ellen Coffman Caldwell; two sons, Dr. Charles "Bobby" Caldwell and wife, Melissa and Bo Jenkins; four daughters, Kathy Chandler, Rita Miller, Dorothy Cheek and Terri Caldwell, all of North Little Rock; sister, Fannie Caldwell, of Waynesville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Honorary pallbearers are Ernie Miller, Colin Miller, Thomas Ray Restor, Fred Cheek, Sr., Marc Caldwell and Fred Cheek, Jr. A private burial will be held in Fowler Cemetery, Paron, Arkansas.
