Mrs. Simmons lived most of her life in Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her father and mother, Franklin and Jeannie Blankenship Strickland; her first husband, Clyde Farmer; five brothers, Silas, David, Mixon, Arnold, and F.A. Strickland; three sisters, Lurie Mae Radford, Ruby Jones, & Myrtle Winters Vaughn.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Simmons, of Providence, Rhode Island; one son, Luther Farmer and wife Patty of Richmond, Virginia; one granddaughter, Julie Farmer; two great-grandchildren, Holli Reeves and Savannah Reeves; one brother, Aaron Strickland of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church; 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435, or to a charity of your choice.
