Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for George Eckel Bertrand, 85, who died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at his residence.
Rev. Ed Boyd will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation may be observed Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by his wife, Irick Sarver Bertrand of Ebenezer; one son, George L. Bertrand and his wife Linda of Ebenezer; one daughter, Carolyn B. Clark and her husband John P. of Ebenezer; six grandchildren, Brian Bertrand of Lafayette, Scotty Bertrand of Ebenezer, Neal Bertrand of Ebenezer, John Stacy Clark of Lafayette, Cathie Serio of Lafayette and Bridgit Clark of Ebenezer; three great-grandchildren, Chase Bertrand of Ebenezer, Megan Serio and Tylen Clark, both of Lafayette; and two sisters, Rosella Sarver of Indian Bayou and Stella Robideaux of San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Bertrand is preceded in death by his parents, Velia and Ida Sarver Bertrand; five brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to express their thanks to Patty and Jean with Hospice of Acadiana for their hard work and kindness.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of arrangements.
