Lola Katherine Tate, 77

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Lola Katherine Tate, 77, died May 18 at Rive Park Hospital after an extended illness.

A retired LPN with McMinnville Health Care Center and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Albert and Pearl (King) Tate, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bradford Tate, in 1991, one son Joe Franklin Tate; two sisters, Lucinda Johnson and Berton Walker; three brothers, Leslie, Paul, Roscoe Tate; and one half sister, Lucille.

She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Donna Driver Coates and Rose Marie Hillis, both of McMinnville; two sons, Gary Eugene and Hubert Bobby Tate, both of McMinnville; three brothers, Jasper Tate of Tarlton, Morton and Edward Tate, both of McMinnville; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High's Chapel with Carl Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bascom Cemetery. Visitation began Tuesday at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
