Martha Beatty m. Edward James Irwin
Edward James Irwin b. 1840 Ireland; emigrated to US before 1860
Edward found in 1860 Census for New York, 19 years old (not verified that this is the same Edward). Martha and Edward are found in the 1870 Census for New York City. They appear in the 1880 Census for New York, with 5 children. From family records, Martha and Edward went back to Ireland (not sure about their children), but were soon unhappy there and decided to return to New York. Martha came with the children (note Anna is born in 1886 in Ireland) and Edward became ill and died before returning to New York. He died in Londonderry, Ireland.

Andrew died about 1905. Minnie in 1910 Census (15 Bank St.) New York, widow, with 3 children, Martha, Edna and Francis b 1901 (Francis m. Churchill Simonson)
Minnie appears in the 1920 and 1930 Census
Note: Tilly LaDue shows up in the 1910 Census with Minnie as a boarder at 15 Bank St.
2. Lillie Irwin appears with her parents in the 1880 Census, age 7 – birth 1873 in New York
She married a LaDue and had a child George in 1897. Apparently dying shortly after child birth
3. James Edward Irwin was born March 12, 1874 and is found in the 1880 census with his parents.
He married Hattie Eliza Teetsel (she was from Saugerties, New York) b. 9 Jan 1876. They were married on October 1895. There were 5 children: Lillian, 16 Jan 1897; Ethel, 8 April 1900; Edward James, 1906; Gertrude, 1898-1912; and Anna May, 7 Jan 1902. James Edward died in 1 May 1916 and is buried in MacPellah Cemetery, North Bergen with his mother, Martha. Hattie married Jack Sadler in 1920 and died in 6 May 1950. She is buried in Graceland Cemetery in Kenilworth. The family came to Roselle Park, NJ after 1920. Hattie Sadler is found in the 1900 Census for NYC with James, living with her parents. They are in the 1910 census for New York with their 5 children. James was a conductor for the trolley in New York. She appears in the 1920 and 1930 Census fro Roselle Park, NJ with her husband, John M. (Jack) Sadler.
4. Edward Irwin is found in the 1880 Census with his parents, age 3 months. He is not found after

5. Mary Irwin was born 1877 in New York. She is found in the 1880 census with her parents, age3.
She married Neil Blair who was born in Scotland 1871. They had 2 children, Edward (1898) and Angus (1901). Mary died in 1903 in New York. Neil died in 1918. Their children appear as lodgers in New Jersey. Edward died in 1991 and don’t know if he was married. Angus died in 1971 and not sure if he was married. I remember Angus visiting my grandmother, Anna May. Mary and Neil Blair are buried in MacPellah Cemetery.
6. Annie Irwin was born in Ireland in 1886 and died in 1918. She married Joseph Clare, born Aug
1881. They had three children: Joseph abt. 1908; Agnes abt 1912 (married ? Campbell) and Elizabeth abt. 1914 (married ? Beaver). Annie is buried in MacPellah Cemetery. Not sure what happened to her husband.

James Edward Irwin and Hattie Eliza Teetsel:
Lillian married Walter Smith and they had 3 children; Walter, Marion and Arthur. She lived in Roselle Park, New Jersey.
Ethel married Robert Kerney and had 3 children; Roberta, Dorothy and Madalyn. She married 2nd Patrick Mullen and lived in Roselle Park, New Jersey.
Edward James Irwin married Helen Donovan and had 2 children; James Edward and Maureen Hattie. They moved to Tucson, Arizona.
Gertrude died at a young age – 14.
Anna May Irwin married William Kerney (Robert’s brother above) and had 4 children; Lillian, Ethel, Will and Gertrude (she died at an early age).
