Farmer in Cumberland County, NC. Enlisted Apr 14, 1864 for the War (CSA). Deserted Jun 1864. Reported confined pending Court Martial Dec 1864. He must have escaped as he was captured by parties unknown in Apr 1865, shot and thrown in the swamp along with his brother Wiley. The bodies were retrieved by family friends and buried on the river bank. A CSA ceremonial Marker was placed in the Starling Graveyard in the 1930's.
