Capt. Joseph Giddings was the son of Thomas Giddings and Sarah Andrews. His paternal Great-great Grand Parents: George Giddings & Jane (Lawrence) Giddings.

He fought in the French & Indian War in the service of the Connecticut Militia under the command of Capt. John Hitchcock.

On Oct 24, 1737 he married Eunice Andrews, daughter of John Andrus (Andrews) & Elizabeth Wallis.
The couple had 9 children:

After Eunice's death and at the age of 68, he married Elizabeth Hungerford on Oct 16, 1781.
