Gladys T. Ball, 97, of Winchester, VA, entered eternal rest Friday February 17, 2012 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, VA.

Mrs. Ball was born February 1, 1915 in Fisher, VA., the daughter of the late George Cain and Florence Cole Cain. She was a member and a Mother of St. Stephens C.M.E. Church in Winchester, VA.

On July 21, 1937 in Hardy, West Virginia she was married to Courtney Ball who preceded her in death in 1997.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Robert Harvey of Cumberland, MD.; two daughters, Roberta Ball-Dokes (Joseph) of Winchester, VA and Mary Mudd (James) of Stephens City, VA.; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Four sisters, Ollie Tross, Mary A. Washington, Willie Lee Jackson, and Eunice Fields; five brothers, Brown Kane, Wesley Kane, Ernest Kane, and George Kane, all preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 noon Wednesday February 22, 2012 at St. Stephens C.M.E. Church in Winchester, VA with Rev Bryan Edwards.

Family will receive friends Wednesday February 22, 2012 one hour before service at the church.

Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA.

Ministry of Comfort Entrusted to Cartwright Funeral Home Winchester, Virginia.
