BLOOMING GROVE, Oct. 15.— (Spl.)—William Blake Thompson, 75, retired farmer, was found dead in a pasture Wednesday afternoon near his home here.
W. B. Ellis, justice of the peace, returned a coroner's verdict of "death from natural causes" following an inquest. He had been in failing health for some time.
Funeral services were held from the Central Baptist church Thursday at 3 p. m. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The rites were conducted by Rev. T. R. Harrison, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Roy Davis, Methodist pastor.
A native of Murphreesboro, Tenn., he had resided in this community for 70 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Thompson, Blooming Grove; a son, Willie Lee Thompson, and a daughter, Mrs. Drew Gillen, both of Blooming Grove; two step-children; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Blake Gillen, Charles Drew Gillen, Nolan Brown, Jim Patterson, and R. E. Josherand, Jr.
McCormick Funeral Service directed.
