Found in a Louisa County, VA Chancery Court 1804-011 case (William Trice vs Charles Crenshaw) is a receipt signed by Jno ASHBURN and Sarah ASHBURN (her mark) from James Trice , Executor of Dabney ANDERSON's estate which says "Then Received of James Trice our full part of Dabney Andersons Estate namely one Negro woman named Phillis and her Increase valued at Thurty pound being a Legacy Given us by our Brother Dabney Anderson Deceased being fully Satisfied and this shall be his discharge for the same Given under our hands and Seals february th 25 1736."

1735 appraisal of Dabney Anderson's estate; and receipt dated 25 Feb 1736 "recieved of James Trice" Negroe man George as legacy from Dabney Anderson to Godney Trice and wife Judy Trice and to Jno Asburn and Sarah Ashburn one Negroe woman Phillis and her increase "legacy given us by our brother Dabney Anderson."
