Eli Gaddis Baily died Nov 4, 1966, a son of Ellis and Harriet Gaddis Baily. He was born March 3, 1865 at Carmichaels and has resided there all his life. He is a retired farmer. He is an alumnus of Greene Academy. Mr. Baily married Agnes Blair on October 3, 1889 at the Auld House in Washington with the Rev John Jacobs officiating. She died September 22, 1959, a few weeks before they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Mr. Baily, who is the last of a family of eight, has been a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels. He was a member of the Carmichaels Grange for more than 50 years and served as chaplain for 28 years. He is the father of five children and made his home with his daughter Margaret on the farm where he resided all of his life. There is one other daughter, Mrs. Florence Huston of Carmichaels and three sons, Dr. Walter L Baily of Waynesburg; Dr. William Blair Baily of Columbus, Ohio and Ralph Baily of Eustis, Fla. He has three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
