Sailor George Fosdick was Portland, Oregon's premier tattoo artist from the late 1910s until his death in 1946. See My short bio on him on my website. Link in profile.

Sailor George originally went by the name "Lonesome Earl." His father was also named George and to avoid confusion he used his middle name "Earl" through his childhood and early adult years.

I'm currently working on a book about my Great, Great Uncle Bert Grimm that will include well-researched biographical and historical information about his mentor, Sailor George Fosdick. See further information about George Fosdick and Bert Grimm at my website, Buzzworthy Tattoo History. Link in profile.

And see my 'Bert Grimm Book' website.
