Jerry F. Shivers 89 was born May 8, 1922, to Mattie and Cruse Shivers of Woodville, Texas. He graduated from Kirby HS, Woodville, TX and volunteered in the US Army in 1941. He later became a member of the US Army Air Corp and flew over a 100 missions as a P-47 pilot in Germany and France during WW II. He graduated from Baylor University with a BBA and LLB degree and served in the Dallas DA's office as an assistant DA under Henry Wade. He entered the oil and gas industry with Coastal States and retired in 1981 as VP of Natural Gas Contracts with Tenneco, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lila, his son Mike and wife Barbara, grandson Cale, granddaughter Cameron, 3 nieces and 5 nephews. Graveside services will be held at Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne, Texas at 2:30, Sunday, February 19, 2012.
