Todd Gill, age 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012.

Todd was born to Charles H. S. and Marcelle E.(Glassow) Gill on July 3, 1943, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Todd was raised in Madison, where he attended Nakoma School, Cherokee Middle School, Madison West High School and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Landscape Architecture in 1968.

Todd served in the Army and was stationed in Thailand, during the Vietnam War from November 1968 to September 1970. When he returned home, he began work at Watts Landscape, ran his own Landscape Company - Design Landscapes, worked for Kent Johnson Landscape and then finished his career at the Bruce Company where he worked for 25 years as a coordinator and estimator for landscape and snow removal as well as a Quality Control Specialist until his retirement in January of 2010.

Todd will be remembered for many things especially his laugh, kind nature and sense of humor. Todd had many interests and loved so many things including: working in his yard, planting flowers, shrubs and trees, driving to Menard's, going antiquing, making brackets, sipping rum and cokes, shaking dice, playing blackjack, going boating, driving up to Door County, anything nautical, playing ping pong, petting animals, feeding the birds, entertaining at home, grilling out, dressing up for Halloween, working on his Model A, strolling on the beach, making friends, building anything out of wood, enjoying prime rib and roesti at Flannery's, working in his hobby shop, making his famous onion dip, and forever spoiling his dog, Buttons. Todd loved life and couldn't find enough hours in the day to finish all of the projects that he had started. You could always count on him to brighten someone's day whether it was dropping off Hershey's Miniatures to a friend or helping someone else out with a project of theirs.

Todd is survived by his wife; his three children of Madison and Stoughton; his sister, of Pewaukee; along with nieces; a nephew and many extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at CHRIST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 944 East Gorham Street, Madison, on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at 3 p.m. A Celebration of Todd's Life will follow at a separate location.

Memorials may be made in memory of Todd to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison WI 53711, or to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005, (www.melanoma.org).
