Age 69, of 408 Midlake Drive, Fountain City, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Tuesday, Saint Mary's Hospital. He was a member of Fountain City Methodist Church, board of Stewards, board of trustees. He was a former Sunday school superintendent, chairman of the board of stewards, former church treasurer and teacher of the Fidelity Bible Class. He was a retired manager of the General Electric Apparatus Department. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Mary Belle Welch Cox; sons, Wilbur A. Cox, Birmingham, Ala.; A.B. Cox Jr., Knoxville. Body will remain at the mortuary. Service 2 p.m. Thursday at Gentry's Chapel, Rev. J. Woodford Stone, Rev. T. Paul Simms and Dr. I P. Martin officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers: T. R. Harrington Jr., Joe Harrington, John Harrington, Ott Garrison, Joe Cox, Tweed Johnson. Members of the Board of Stewards and Fidelity Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Funeral services for Arthur Bogle Cox, retired manager of General Electric apparatus department, who died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Gentry's Chapel. Rev. J. Woodford Stone, Rev. Paul Simms and Dr. I. P. Martin will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Cox, 69, resided at 408 Midlake Drive, Fountain City. He was a member and active worker in Fountain City Methodist Church, serving on the board of trusteed and as Sunday School superintendent and chairman of the board of stewards.
