RICH SUMBERA RITES HELD

Services for Richard F. (Rich) Sumbera, 78, of Megargel who died Wednesday, May 31, 1978 in a Wichita Falls hospital were held Friday, June 2 at 11 a.m. in St Mary’s Catholic Church in Megargel. Father Robert Vreteau officiated.

Sumbera was born December 5, 1899 in Ammannsville and married Mary Cernosek Simek in 1943 in Megargel. He lived in Megargel about 51 years. He was a retired service representative for Community Public Service Co. and a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs Mildred Hathaway of Oklahoma City; two sons, Ben of Grand Prairie and Marvin of California; one step daughter, Mrs. Bernice Gowens of Abilene; one brother, Jerome Sumbera of Wichita Falls; thirteen grand children and two great grandchildren.

Burial was in the Megargel Cemetery under the direction of Lunn’s Funeral Home.
