Jackson Harvey O'Quinn, 79, died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah following a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Glynn County, Harvey served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his enlistment, he returned to Glynn County where he worked as an iron worker at R.E. Thomas and Hercules until his retirement.

He loved building things, including an award winning Norwich Baptist Church railroad train and a patriotic Army tank. Harvey enjoyed mowing the lawn for the church and went on several mission trips. He was a member of the church and a member of the Ironworkers Local Union No. 597.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Camille Beard O'Quinn of Brunswick; four sons, Jack O'Quinn (Zella), Rick O'Quinn (Diane), Terry O'Quinn (Pam), and Russell O'Quinn (Susan), all of Brunswick; one daughter, Karen Harvey (Mike) of Brunswick; a sister Dorothy Oglesby of Brunswick; a brother, J. B. O'Quinn of Brunswick; 15 grandchildren, Jay oO'Quinn, Jackie Manning, Shana, Lindsay, Steven O'Quinn, Wesley Owens, Kathryn Cobb, April Evans, Megan O'Quinn, Lee O'Quinn, Chris O'Quinn, Stephanie Brand, Rusty O'Quinn, Henry O'Qinn, Hannah Harvey and Cole harvey; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norwich Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Pickren and the Rev. Dr. Art Cyphers officiating.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Jack, Rick, Terry and Russell O'Quinn; his son-in-law, Mile Harvey, and his brother, J. B. O'Quinn.

Honorary pallbearers wil be his grandsons and nephews, past and present employees of Hercules and the Ironworkers Local Union No.597.

Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
