"Reuben S. Bradley.
FAIRBURY. Reuben S[amuel] Bradley, 82, of Fairbury, was dead on arrival at 5 a.m. Wednesday at Fairbury Hospital. He had been ill a month.
His funeral will be at 11 am Friday at the Stiver Home for Funerals in Fairbury, with the Rev. Edward J. Haun officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1897, in Weston, a son of Samuel and Ida Fosdick Bradley. He married Lilie Dart in 1918. He married Margaret Friant Sept. 2, 1933, in Fowler, Ind. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Tom, Rankin; three daughters, Lela Hacker, Gilman; Dorothy DiMase, Alexandria, Va.; Delores Anderson, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Fern Jost, Forrest, and Viola Bean, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One son and a twin sister preceded him in death.
He was owner-operator of the Bradley Electric Co. in Fairbury until recently.
He performed a one-man ventriloquism and country music act for area groups.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice."
