Jacob Grafius Calvert aged 83 years died at this late home on Thursday on Main Street in the house in which he was born in 1834. The Calvert Family came to this area in 1811 & the descendants have been men & women of affairs, esteemed for their sterling worth. J G Calvert was a former burgess, a councilman & a school director in Jersey Shore. He was a farmer, lumberman & established a large furniture & undertaking business. He is survived by his wife , a son J Grafius Calvert Jr & daughter Miss Martha S Calvert. His son a former student at the University of Wisconsin is enrolled in the US Army. Miss Calvert expects to go to France as a Red Cross nurse. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon.
