He moved from Nelson County to Ohio County about 1830. He bought a partially improved farm near Point Pleasant.

In 1870, he and Ann sold one acre to the West Point United Baptist Church, of which they were devoted members.

Mr. Collier Tichenor died at his home near Point Pleasant, last Saturday morning, aged eighty-two years. He had been ill for about five weeks. He was a specimen of the noblest work of God, "an honest man". He was a member of the Baptist Church. Dr. Bennett held funeral services at West Point Baptist Church Sunday, after which his remains were interred in the graveyard on his home place.
