"Horespen, Feb 28 - Funeral services were conducted on February 13 for Mrs. Sarah Emaline Osborne at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. F. Jennings at Horepen, services being in charge of Rev. Den B. Gillespie of Bluefield Va. Mrs. Osborne had been only but a few days, death being caused by pneumonia. She was born in Tannersville on June 27, 1850. Before marriage she was Miss Sarah French and as united in marriage to M. L. Osborne on June 15, 1870. To this union were born 4 children, Mrs. C.F. Jennings, of Horsepen; J.S. Osborne , Bramwell, West Virginia; S.K. Osborne, Pocahontas, Virginia; W. A. L. Osborne preceded her to the grave about 40 years ago. Her husband died 8 years ago, also 5 sisters and one brother preceded her to the grave. A. P. French, Tannersville, Virginia, Mrs. Letitia Ratliff, Little Valley, Virginia; Mrs. Martha Lawson, Tazewell, Mrs. Tenny Taylor, and Mrs. Anna Robertson all of Giles County, Virginia, and one sister Mrs. Mary Kelly, of Roanoke, Virginia. Mrs. Osborne was a member of the Methodist Church. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. Burial took place in Little Valley.
