W. J. Aloan

Orwell — William J. Aloan, 71, was pronounced dead at his home Monday afternoon, May 18, after he suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Aloan was a native and resident of Redfield until moving to Orwell 12 years ago. He retired as clerk of the Oswego County Board of Supervisors in 1962 after 21 years. Previously, he was a supervisor for the Town of Redfield for about 10 years and ran a garage there.

Mr. Aloan was a member of Orwell Union Church, Orwell, and was a member of Pulaski Masonic Lodge 415 and of Masonic Chapter 279, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Orwell Odd Fellows, the Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cedric Yerdon of Jamesville and a grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday In the Orwell Union Church, the Rev. Robert C. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.

The body has lain at rest in the Sanborn Funeral Home, Camden
