He was born October 17, 1944, at Meadowbrook, a son of the late Elbert L. and Josephine Mae Moore. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Junia and Iva Jones Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Kay Scott Moore, whom he married October 17, 1967; his daughter, Tammy Moore Carpenter, and her husband, Francis "Butch" Carpenter; his granddaughter, Emma Alyse Carpenter, who was the light of his life and his brother, Junior H. Moore.
Also preceding him in death were his four sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Moore was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970. He was formerly employed by Clarksburg Casket Company and was a member of DAV Chapter 13, Clarksburg.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 6 - 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 - 9 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006, with Rev. Homer Ham and Pastor John Piggott officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, with full Military Honors accorded.
