Chesley Clifton Cassady, departed this life for the open arms of Jesus, on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his home in Louann. Chesley was born March 22, 1933 in Kilgore, TX. He had been a resident of Louann for fifteen years, where he enjoyed attending Liberty Methodist Church.
Chesley was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton C. Cassady and Myra Smith Cassady of Longview, TX; and a special cousin, Jerry C. Johnson of Louann.
Survivors include his caregiver, Ila Johnson Scifres; cousins, Jennifer Fife and Sean Johnson; aunt, Melva Smith Johnson; and numerous other cousins of the Louann, Smackover, and Longview, TX areas.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Liberty Methodist Church with burial in Liberty Cemetery with Bro. Winston Roden officiating and Tommy Kelly assisting. Pallbearers include Chesley's cousins, Sean Johnson, Bill Johnson, Tom Smith, Don Smith, Jimmy Yancey, and Darryl Scifres. The family is especially grateful to Hospice and Comfort Keepers from El Dorado for their care and concern.
