BENTON
Esther Deaton,aged 103, of Benton died Saturday, March 13,2004, at the home of her son. She was born Oct.20, 1900,
in Whittington, Ark., to the late James K. and Isabella
Burgess.
Mrs. Deaton worked as a clerk for Hinke Pilot Grocers in
Houston, Texas, and was a member of the United Methodist
Church in Benton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vander Deaton, and son,
Herbert Deaton.
She is survived by one son, V.J.Deaton and wife Willene of
the Salem Community, two grandchildren, John Deaton and wife Janice, of Gravette, Ark. and Melissa Matte and husband, Rod of College Station, Texas; five great-grand-
children, Stephanie and Justin Deaton of Gravette, Ark.,
Wendy Zeitler, of Alamogordo, N.M., and Pamela and Meghan
Matte of College Station, Texas
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 15,
2004 at Pinecrest Memorial Park by Rev Keith Goza. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14,
