DECATUR — Ellen Jane [Jean] Mears, 90 of Decatur died 12:10 a.m. Friday January 13, 2012 in her daughter home in Cisco.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday January 16, 2012 at Heartland Community Church with Pastor Joe Bowman officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 at the church. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown. Memorials may be made to the family C/O Penni Olson. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mears was born March 3, 1921 in Mt. Pulaski, IL., daughter of William Christian and Hallie Shull Bertrang. She was a homemaker and mother of eight children.
Surviving are her children, Barbara (William) Malone of Blue Mound, Gloria (Greg) Beaman of Taylorville, William (June) Mears of Decatur, Kent (Tonya) Mears of Mt. Zion, Dona Lynn Trueblood of Decatur, Penni (Jeff) Olson of Argenta, Glen Mears of Des Moines, IA, daughter-in-law, Joni Mears of Decatur, 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister, Betty Bickmeyer of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James B. Mears, son, Dale Mears, 2 sisters, 1 great grandchild and 1 great great grandchild.
