Born December 12, 1915, in Pottstown. She was the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Elmira (Murray) Powell.
Isabel graduated from the former North Coventry High School in Pottstown. She then earned a bachelor's degree in education from Elizabethtown College, after which she was employed as a teacher for a year with her alma mater, North Coventry High School. She then taught commercial subjects for Thompson's Business School in Harrisburg. Isabel later retired from the State of Pennsylvania, where she taught various commercial subjects to secretaries.
Isabel is survived by one brother, Richard C. Powell of Lewes, Del., and one sister, Betty Sminkey of Gilbertsville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Robert Powell.
Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road Glenville, with the Rev. Donald G. Hubbell officiating and the Rev. Helen Osborne and the Rev. Bernard King assisting. Burial will be in Black Rock Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Glenville.
