"Grant Price passed away at his home at West Exeter on Monday, December 27th, after an illness of several months. He was born in the town of Springfield September 9th, 1870, son of the late Sylvester and Lodeema (Brown) Price. Forty-five years ago he moved to the town of Exeter where he operated a dairy farm for several years. Later he moved into the village of West Exeter where he worked for the Phenix Cheese company, after which he, in partnership with his son, operated a successful poultry farm. He married Lura Shipman on October 23rd, 1889. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago. He was a charter member of the West Exeter Odd Fellows lodge and a member of the West Exeter Grange. He served as trustee for that organization for several years. He was a man held in high esteem in his community, a good friend and a kind neighbor. His many friends feel a deep sense of personal grief at his passing. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Vaughn B., and Orlo G.; three grandchildren, Joyce, Marjorie and Lawrence Price, all of West Exeter and a niece, Mrs. Ruth Clark, of Schuyler Lake. The eldest son, Vere S., passed away two years ago last June. The funeral was held Wednesday of last week at 2 p. m. from the West Exeter Methodist church. Interment in the West Exeter cemetery."
