Carlile Brayshaw and sons owned Brayshaw Bee Hive factory during the late 1800's, northeast of the Racqette Ball Club. His sons (Millard, Will, and Frank) got what education local schools provided: namely, Highbank (8 grades) then attended Battle Creeek College, Michigan. Dr. Joseph Brayshaw and sons were all horticulturists, Bee-keepers, and naturalists; raised silkworms, bees, berries, orchards, and gardens on land once owned by Joseph, known as Brayshaw Organic Gardens on South Wells Street Road where stands the family cemetary containing 40 Brayshaw relatives and friends.
