James Henry Moseley, a lifelong farmer, served the Confederacy in Company E of the 13th South Carolina Regiment. He was said to have participated in fourteen battles. After the war, he married Martha Serina Edwards Feagan, whose husband, Capt. John Henry Feagan, had died in the war. He had three children with her.
He was the son of Arthur Moseley and Matilda Forrester Moseley of Union.
