Glenn Waterman And Francis Sherman Are Victims Of Accident On Highway 57

Killed instantly when the sedan in which they were driving failed to make. a curve and overturned last night near Plymouth, Glenn Waterman, 23, of town Plymouth, and Francis Richard Sherman, 26, of town Mitchell, were new casualties in Sheboygan county's automobile accident death roll.
The accident occurred at approximately 20 minutes to 7 Tuesday night four miles north of Plymouth on Highway 57 when the pair, returning from Elkhart Lake to Plymouth, missed what is commonly known as "La Budde" curve and smashed into a pine tree a foot in diameter. Officers said the heavy car snapped the tree off eight feet from the ground and under the momentum swept the rest of the tree with it for 25 to 30 feet before finally overturning.
Thrown From Car
Mr. Sherman, who was thrown from the vehicle, died of a skull fracture, while his companion, pinned beneath, received a broken neck and lesser injuries.
Mr. Waterman figured in a severe motorcycle accident several months ago. Now of the town of Plymouth, he was born Feb. 27, 1919 in the city of Plymouth, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Euphenia Waterman. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Ann of Plymouth, and Mrs. Milton Laun of Milwaukee, and a brother, James.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of the First Evangelical church. Funeral services will.-be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wittkopp Funeral home at Plymouth with the Rev. Roland Ferch, pastor of the First Evangelical church, officiating. Friends may call to view the body from 3:30 Friday afternoon until time of the services.
